WHY EXPEDITION CRUISING STANDS APART
Expedition ships are small by design — typically carrying 100 to 200 guests — which means they can access remote polar regions, isolated archipelagos, and protected wildlife areas that larger vessels simply cannot reach. The onboard experience is built around discovery. Naturalists, marine biologists, and polar historians join every voyage, leading landings and lectures that transform what you're seeing into something you actually understand.
Unlike traditional cruising, there's no fixed itinerary. The captain and expedition leader read the conditions daily and adjust the route to follow wildlife, weather, and opportunity. That flexibility is the point. You might find yourself kayaking alongside a humpback whale, walking a penguin colony, or hiking a glacial moraine — all in the same morning.
